Modern day Para Para vs. Classic Para Para

Ok, so since there wasn't a sub-forum for Para Para, which, no doubt, is an integral part of Eurobeat, I decided to throw this thread in here. Feel free to move it if it's in the wrong section.

Now, anyway, what do you guys think of the modern Para Para dances? I think they've declined a little bit. Super Eurobeat 170 had an accomanying DVD with a segment called "The Masters of Para Para" where they'd created some Para Para routines for some of the newer (and also some classic) songs.

And what I saw bored me. Most of the routines were boring, repetitive, unimaginative, sometimes just plainly wrong ("That move does not fit!", "That's bad synching!"), etc. The only routine I actually liked was "Chemical Love".

Also, what's up with this new practice of ret conning old routines? I noticed this with the SEB 150 DVD. It had a lot of classical routines and almost every single one of them had been changed somehow, throwing in different moves here and there.

The same thing happened with SEB 170. For one thing, "Kamikaze" has slightly different moves compared to the routine in "Gazen Para Para"-whatever (the one with the school theme). Why are they doing it? To "innovate"? >_>'

Songs can have multiple routines, they're not set in stone. Many different choreos from several clubs are usually available for songs... most are only slightly differing, however, but still unique.

If you want to discuss things like this, maybe http://www.paraparastage.com would be a better place.

I don't know much about parapara these days (i haven't been following it for a good year and a half now) but one thing about "change" is could be due to the style of the dancer, or how good/bad they are at preforming. If you notice Try Me on SEB150 and Try Me on SEB170 (I think it was that song) you'll see a slight difference between how some of the moves were done.

As Cosmic Bard said; http://www.paraparastage.com has forums; all focused around parapara - this would be a great community to chit-chat parapara with because this website is more into eurobeat music rather than dancing.

And if you want a *real* style difference, check out Kamikaze on 150's History of Parapara.

The slight difference might also be because the Kamikaze used in the Gazen Parapara video was the Midi Wave remix while the one used in the 170 DVD was the original. But I did notice some differences in the way they do a few moves (The 150, Gazen Parapara and 170 versions), I also noticed this during Dark In The Night too.

Yeah, I noticed it sounded slightly different, but I just assumed it was beacause my speakers are acting up >_>'.
