This is where the money comes from!
Does anyone remember Dave Rodgers - Get Wild? (Dave Rodgers - TMN Song Meets Disco Style)
Well, here's where he get's his money from to fund his studio and staff:

Does anyone have more examples of this kind of 'AVEX-money-making' stuff?

Not a bad video. They didn't mangle it too badly.Toni wrote:Does anyone remember Dave Rodgers - Get Wild? (Dave Rodgers - TMN Song Meets Disco Style)

Ah, after a quick search I found out that TMN stands for: TM Network, a J-pop band from AVEX... Sheesh... There goes the magic.Toni wrote:Does anyone remember Dave Rodgers - Get Wild? (Dave Rodgers - TMN Song Meets Disco Style)

Dave wasn't the original (TM Network were)... so he wouldn't get any money from that new version.

"Get Wild" is an awesome song...
But, as stated above, it was originally done by TM NETWORK (one of Japan's most famous projects) in the later part of the 80's. There's multiple versions of it. Then, of course, there's two versions by Rodgers and two by Nami Tamaki. I like all of them. haha

Ach so... I was mistaken... Now I must commit honourable seppuku!
Well, learned something new today. I also saw versions of the same song done by TM Revolution... Very weird...
Then. Where DOES the Eurobeat money come from?

Then those rights must have a hefty price, right?Mikaeru wrote:What? Um, labels sell publishing rights to Avex, Avex sells cds?Toni wrote:Then. Where DOES the Eurobeat money come from?

Indeed. Well, that's something I've always tried to figure out. This is something Festari or Newfield might better answer, but my wild guess would be about 5000 of your favoutire non-Yen currency per track? Less for nonstops.
And don't forget that for TIME and Saifam, eurobeat seems to be a smaller part of their business. And that SCP and A-Beat C use their studios for other genres. Not terribly sure about what Delta and HRG do.

Well A-BEAT C, SCP, and DELTA also have labels for Hyper Techno and Pop.Mikaeru wrote:And that SCP and A-Beat C use their studios for other genres. Not terribly sure about what Delta and HRG do.
Delta has Easy Beat which is their Hyper Techno unit. I can't think offhand what A-BEAT C's techno label is called? Light and Shadow or something like that. I don't know if SCP has a different name for their techno side.

Eurobeat is a middling genre at best, kept alive by one small country and a fe foreigners, not to mention the general lack of many artists and much public interest in the whole thing, so of course Avex would pay loads for their stuff. They need a reason to continue making Eurobeat music, no?Toni wrote:Hmm... Setting up an Eurobeat label sure sounds interesting now...

Hahaha, I know. I was just thinking of an indie label. Nah, with the way things are going now, I'll just stick to manga drawing and from time to time producer of music... Come to think of it... Is the collaboration still on? I need a change of lyrics! Please someone help me out here!Wataru Akiyama wrote:Eurobeat is a middling genre at best, kept alive by one small country and a fe foreigners, not to mention the general lack of many artists and much public interest in the whole thing, so of course Avex would pay loads for their stuff.
