Eurobeat CDs from Poland (rare FLEA and TIME tracks)

Post by cheeseman » 19 Jun 2007, 18:17

I've recently found two very interesting series of CD compilations of early 90s Eurobeat.

What's even more curious about them is that they were made in Poland!
A Polish record label called Snake's Music released them in 1992-1993.

They are called SNAKE'S BEAT and THE BEST OF ITALO DISCO (which is actually Eurobeat rather than Italo).
I was shocked to find almost all FLEA releases from 1991/92 there, as hardly any of them have ever been released on CDs!
There is also some rare TIME stuff which has never been released on CDs as full versions.

SNAKE'S BEAT is 100% FLEA Records, while THE BEST OF ITALO DISCO is FLEA, TIME, DISCOMAGIC and its sub-labels.

Great find! I've seen some Snake's Music compilations before, and I was also surprised they came from Poland. The ones I know contained SAIFAM songs only. But I never heard of the series you found. They look very interesting, 1991 was a great eurobeat year. Did you already know all those songs?

I've only heard some FLEA tracks on That's Eurobeat series and Coo Coo/King Kong albums.
Also, some of these TIME tracks were included on non-stops like The Early Days of Super Eurobeat.
Most of them are new to me though.
It's amazing how so many well-known vocalists were with FLEA - Mauro Farina, Giancarlo Pasquini, Alessandra Gatti, Clara Moroni, Elena Gobbi, Annerley Gordon, Gianni Coraini, Gino Caria, Claudio Magnani, Emanuela Gubinelli, Fabrizio Rizzolo, Susanna Dal Gesso...

Since these CDs are so rare, I might share some... erm, samples...

Don't forget Fred Ventura. He was Albert O Ryan. He also helped cowrite the song. and both Laurent Newfield and Sergio Dall'Ora, as well as many other well known composers created many of those records in thier own studios. Then they released them to Ala Bianca under FLea label. It actually seemed that they were all working together. 8)

Flea was totally awesome. They were my fav label, along with TIME My first tru Eurobeat record was "Boom Boom Dollars" after that I went crazy colecting Flea 12's. So yeah I have most of them. I would like them on Cd quality too. Are they still avaliable or outprinted?

Allways wondered where these showed up ,since they didn't make the SEB series. I actually had to search for the 12's onlone. Great Gino Caria songs. Avex really mssed out on these two. 8)

Enjoy this collage I put together from my personal colection.

I think they're out of print. However, there are some in used records stores.
I will look for them as soon as finals are over.

ha Ha. Nice eye1 Some of Flea's 12's had no coversleeves, just red or green designs, so Yeah as far back as early 90s ,I was allready cutting out magazines and making sleeves. I was a lot younger too and I wasn't as creative. Just basic girl/Guy images. The hardest part was cutting out the letters and pasting them. You gotta start somewhere, right? 8)

hey which ones you think are made up?

Susanna Dal Gesso? Which song(s) would that be? It could be, but I never noticed :)

Great idea! Most of them are not new to me, but there are a few even I have never heard.

Righeira - Garageamos (FL 8430)
Maria Gomez - Hungry For Fame (FL 8423)
Lilac - When I'm With You (FL 8484)

Donna Luna - I Will Never Try To Change You (FL 8467), written and produced by Diaferia/Rizzolo, mixed by Pasquini.
The "Many Thanks To" section even mentions "Susy", so it's definitely her.

"When I'm With You" and "I Promise My Heart" are written by Dall'Ora/Gubinelli, with Emanuela Gubinelli on vocals. Quite good if you like her style.
What's interesting, "When I'm With You" is the only Lilac track with a female vocalist.
The other Flea tracks you mentioned are one-offs, written and produced by people I've never heard of. :P
"Foreign Affair" is a Mike Oldfield cover with Dora Carofiglio (Valerie Dore/Novecento) on vocals.
And "Mad Desire" is not as good as the original version.

Send me a PM and I'll see what I can do...

And one more thing - the CD covers are quite interesting, since they were hand-painted:

Oh, I haven't heard this one... :?
Looking at the credits I thought it was Pasquini or Rizzolo singing in falsetto or something... :P
Who is the vocalist on that track? Susy Dal Gesso as well?

Oh, and by the way... This song, as well as many other FLEA releases that were neither featured on the Polish CDs nor on That's Eurobeat series, were licensed to Toshiba EMI and released on the following CDs:

Eurobeat Box Vol. 1 (TOCP-6257)
Eurobeat Box Vol. 2 (TOCP-6469)
Eurobeat Box Vol. 3 (TOCP-6608)
Kiss Kiss Kiss ~Contemporary Eurobeat Hits~ (TOCP-6790)

Does anyone have any of these?

I bought all of them, but left Kiss Kiss Kiss in my friend's house 15 years
ago and I've never met him since then. *lmao*
