Hello, just thought I'd pop in to make another topic and connect with the eurobeat community some more.. unfortunately I run out of things to say really because I've yet to own any records or anything, which is sad because well.. this forum is probably one of the few places to be involved with eurobeat at all! It's too underground of a music scene... I kind of wish it were popular everywhere. Anyways.

I've discovered that a lot of songs I have grown to love (Pilot is the hero, eurobeat, speedway, speedy speed boy, made of fire (better than night of fire /imo/), restless and wild, running in the 90s (bleh, not a fan of the memes this song is attached to..), shy gun, love & money... list goes on) and artists (Niko, Marko Polo, Kevin Johnson, Oda, D.Essex, Pizza Girl, Delta Queens, Leslie Parrish...) are from Newfield & Sinclaire/Delta. Thankfully I learned from this website that songs are tied by producers, so that way I could find songs similar to the ones I liked. I couldn't tell you honestly that I've gone through all the labels, though some of the songs I like come from other labels, such as ones from Franz Tornado, so for now I'll say... these are my favorite eurobeat producers, Delta is my favorite label. I mean, from the pleading Leslie Parrish songs, to the aggressive mix of synthesizer and rock from Niko and Marko Polo, to the more lovey dovey side of Maurizio De Jorio from his Kevin Johnson alias (are Kevin Johnson and Niko/Marko Polo/D. Essex/Coveri/Oda the same person? Discogs says so, but Kevin's real name is Davide. http://www.discogs.com/artist/Kevin+Johnson+%283%29 confusing...) so much awesomeness.

So yeah. I just thought I'd make this to learn from all the Eurobeat veterans, and just talk about their awesome music. And with that, I was wondering, where else could I learn about them? I know about Delta's myspace and sinclairestyle.net... any other site or thing I should be aware of?

Yes. Well, and no. De Jorio did "Yankee", and I think a couple of others as Kevin Johnson, otherwise it would be Davide Budriesi. Sometimes aliases get used by other vocalists and sometimes they're exclusive to one person. De Jorio also does/did Morris/Casanova/Roswell/Dejo/etc.

You could always use the advanced search on the site and just type in Maurizio De Jorio (or any other vocalist you're curious about) under "vocalist" to get a list of his songs.

Maurizio DeJorio shared the Kevin Johnson alias with Davide Budresi, the 'main' holder of the title. Since the schism of labels, Davide is the sole holder of the title.

Oda was transferred to Luka Torchiani, last I checked (with the song Rainbow).

Niko was to Sinclaire what Marko Polo was to Newfield— Maurizio DeJorio a la "powerful/aggro". "Oda" is an anagram of DOA— Dead Or Alive, an early disco/dance group produced by SAW, one of Newfield's colleagues and inspirations.

Night of Fire was originally sung by Edoardo Arlonghi, Niko's "live" representation. Avex asked for it to be sung by DeJorio instead, and the version everyone knows backwards-and-forwards was born.

If I recall one of Newfield's earlier posts on this forum, Clara was named "Cherry" by Sinclaire.

"New Horizon" was originally called "July 31"; due to the album release in October, Ken was asked to rewrite the chorus & title.

And that's all the trivia I can recall for now.

Also to add to this topic, sadly, Newfield quitted the Eurobeat scene. His last song was zoup's When The Sun Goes Down on SEB 201. Well, the last song to be credited or partly credited. He now works in communications I believe.

Schism? I just checked discogs and both Kevin and Davide's songs are all under delta, besides one of Davide's writing & arrangement credits under a label called Irma Unlimited.

So did Edoardo originally sing Night of Fire? What prompted the change - was DeJorio's voice just better or...? That's kind of crazy though, a singer turning into a model...

The Marko/Newfield Sinclaire/Niko separation is informative... considering all over their releases under Delta (I would assume, or at least a lot of releases..) they are paired together, not separate, even though ala discogs they've never produced a track together! Would you have any idea which producer was involved with different artists, or would they both take turns with different songs with different singers?

Takarou - Thanks for the tip. Why exactly do people trade off/share alias names? What prompted that in the beginning of eurobeat?

Awwwww! What about Sinclaire, any news on him? Discogs says Delta is being run by Clara now, and Sinclaire is setting up his own label - is that sinclairestyle? Or would it be something else? And does anyone know why they left?

I've just heard there were personal difference between Newfield and Sinclaire in the later days of their partnership. I don't know if anyone really knows and if they do, I'm sure it's a private matter.

I would like to know what year they did separate. Was "If You Ever Leave Me" by Ale on 169, Sinclaire's last song with Delta?

And further more, is Newfield even active with Delta or with Eurobeat in general right now? The last thing I remember was Akyr's second compilation disc.

what a kick in the balls that was. I fear Dall Ora is following the same rout. I hope not, but damn is he absent form SEB too often.

BTW, I didn't know Edo sung the original Night Of Fire. What I didn know was that he did do vocals once. For the song Tattoo, but Avex didn't go crazy for his vocals, so he was given the job of being Niko's model.

My most confusing moments were DELTA using the name Edo Boys and ABeatC using the name DELTA Force. EDO was originally an alias for Gino Caria at ABeatC and DELTA was DELTA Queens at DELTA

Seems like Eurobeat is going through something like the changing of the guard... Still, I must confess I stopped listening to new songs after 196 and I haven't come back to it really. I listen to the oldies very occasionally but I'm saturated for new Eurobeat now. I think the creativity and zest of the new stuff just bottomed out. Doubtless other people feel differently or we wouldn't still have such fervent debates on the new albums!

On the subject of Newfield, I really feel Eurobeat has lost a shining star in his productions, but when Avex decided to get so picky about which songs they'd choose for compilations, I can understand why he just decided to up and leave (I remember he had quite a few songs rejected from 191 onwards). To this day, Avex's choices of songs baffles me - they leave out some right gems (a number of Saifam tracks spring to mind) in favour of absolute rubbish.

Certainly, I'm sorry if it seemed like I was starting gossip or something like that - but in general, it sucks when any collaborators separate from bad relations, kind of like when one loses a friend.

Wow! That would explain how the number of songs diminished from both of them in the new SEB compilations. At least it seems so, looking on the website... in earlier compilations, it seemed like there would be 2-4 songs from them on quite a few cds. Though I'd like to buy SEB 209 to support the industry, I find myself mainly interested in the older cds - yeah, there's mp3s, but nothing I can't find in the cds, I'm mainly interested in cds versus mp3s unless it's stuff I can't find anywhere else.

Speaking of which, how are the Eurobeat Rejected and Eurobeat Masters Missing Files? Recommended? I might consider buying those if I none are on cd/vinyl.

You hit the nail on the head there on the private matter bit. From my understanding. Also If You Ever Leave Me was the last Sinclaire @ Delta song released but the last one produced was Leslie Parrish - This Love from 168. It was the only song published by him in 2006 and to the best of my knowledge the only thing he produced dance music wise. As for the Delta schism, everything Sinclaire produced trasnfered with him to Sinclairestyle with the exception of songs like Round N Round, Lay Your Hands On Me, Money Go!, etc. Also when he left Delta he also left behind almost all of his old aliases for eurobeat. Niko & Nathalie are the only ones to survive.
