What happened to Eurogrooves?

Post by Shinji-kun[NGE] » 27 Mar 2011, 16:53

There haven't been a song from them on SEB since volume 2003((( What actually happened? Anyone knows?

They do remixes still (i.e. U*Scream, M.O.V.E. and such), but I'm curious as well why we haven't had an original song from them in over a year now. I think there are a few possibilities...

1) Avex/7A has been rejecting their songs (something Newfield has said about his latter career with Delta)

2) Avex may be looking at dropping them from SEB original songs to make way for the more popular labels like Dima, Sinclaire, GGM.

3) They may be on hiatus temporarily (like Saifam did for a time in the 170s-180s) to create a bigger catalog of songs. Speaking of Saifam songs, I felt they did a great job in the 160s and 170s with great original songs, but have fallen back on remixes and remakes way too much in the past few albums which is such a shame.

Does anyone have access to the directors or producers for Eurogrooves? I say this because many fans are really missing their awesomeness ever since they went from Time to Eurogrooves (Can't say I was a big fan of Time material unless it was by Annie or Dany...but that's just me).

Fixed.

Anyway, I'm a bit worried about Eurogrooves/Time because I like their work. But according to a rumor, it seems that for 214, 7A wants to bring back some speedy stuff in (which an AMAZING news, if true). If true, we might get a few Eurgrooves on the way.

My theory for them to only have given remixes since 204 is that they refused to follow 7A's request in slowing stuff down, so, they got refused because of that.

That doesn't mean Eurogrooves are guaranteed a slot on 214. You make it sounds like Eurogrooves is the only label capable of producing speedy eurobeat, lol...

I'm just surprised nobody knows for certain what's happened to Eurogrooves. There's a lot of theories floating around yet there's still no surefire explanation after all this time...

Seconded...cuz bpm has nothing to do with it.
I'm just surprised nobody knows for certain what happened to Eurogrooves; there's too many rumours floating around. I just want a definitive answer, haha.
Definitive answers are in short supply..maybe try to read hints instead..

I may have sounded like that, but, I didn't mean too.

Thx for supporting me! I think that's a high possibility BECAUSE if you look at Eurogrooves' tracks for 202 and 203 you will find that they are VERY speedy.

202 :
Ready Forever / Chris Stanton : 156 BPM
Playboy / Apple : 158 BPM
203 :
Take This Way / Christian : 160 BPM

So, what if Eurogrooves refused to slow BPM down for Avex? That may explain why only slower remixes as been released btween 204 and 212. So, that's why I am saying that if 7A goes to a faster style, Eurogrooves has a huge chance to be on the CD. My wild dream is 3 songs (at the expense of Dima; Sory DS, but your label gets too much attention) on this album.

Don't read me wrong; I know other labels can make fast stuff. Delta has been famous for that (i.e. "Burning Up The Night (Total Fire)" [182] and "Rebel Yell" [186] were both at 170 BPM).

I highly doubt that's going to happen. 7A seems to love Dima, and with new vocalists joining the label all the time and even a new producer on board (Ravenant) I don't foresee Dima Music getting less exposure any time soon.

For the sake of originality, I'd request that Saifam/Asia was shelved in favour of Eurogrooves, at least until they can produce some more epic original tracks like they put out around the 160's-170's (namely Black UFO, Dream Of You and Like A Fire - still sound amazing and fresh today!)

Time was my favorite label, and I would, too, appreciate having their legacy around... :?

Does anyone have contact with the producers from there? I highly doubt it would do anything, but we could rally behind them to have their music produced...

I doubt it. Like I said before, if anybody here did have contact with the producers, we'd know for sure what's been going on and why they aren't producing any original material.

I also heard that Eurogrooves/Time is highly secretive. The only thing I've heard from an anonymous source is that they are in studio but... that's about it.
