Toho Eurobeat Vol.9: Undefined Fantastic Object

Post by Lebon14 » 06 May 2014, 07:44

Seeing people really enjoyed Vol.8 (especially with Spider's Blood), I decided to, well, to create this topic!

So, huh, yeah.

Release date hasn't been said but I'm pretty sure it's this month. "The Revival Mix" was released on May 13, 2013 so I'm pretty sure that this one will be around that date too.

First reaction:
Sounds like a pretty good album so far. Travis leaves me like stone for this one. :(

eXtaticus wrote:Rute's not necessarily Akiba Kobou; DiGiTAL WiNG did Feel My Words on Toho Eurobeat Vol. 8, and I doubt that Akiba's getting quite that many tracks.

I don't hold out much hope for the glorious re-entry of SamFree that I've been pining for since Vol. 5, but he's probably got other projects to work on.
Well, I said Akiba because most of his tracks seems to be arraged by DJ Command which is, of course, from Akiba.

Well, let's see the scans.

Also, release date is May 11.

I'm not much into Touhou besides music, but why didn't they take Cirno as cover girl for volume 9, since she is connected with that number? Or is this Cirno and I'm just too dumb to see that?

Well, I'll listen to the demo in the next hours. In general, good (in my opinion, of course) Toho Eurobeat songs are rare. The only volumes I really enjoy are Vol. 1 and 3. Hopefully, those songs are nice.

From vol.3 to 9, you can see a pattern: they cover the songs from the game indicated by the subtitle. This time it's UFO (TH12). While what you said makes sense and is a good idea, they already used Cirno. They used her on The Best Of Non-Stop Toho Eurobeat 2011. They also used Sakuya on The Best Of Non-Stop Toho Eurobeat 2012-2013 and Suika on The Revival Mix.

There's no pattern to which caracther they use. Vol.8 was Rin. While all the other were Final Stage boss or Extra Stage boss. In order,

Vol.1: Reimu
Vol.2: Marisa
Vol.3: Remilia
Vol.4: Yukari
Vol.5: Kaguya
Vol.6: Eiki
Vol.7: Suwako
Vol.8: Rin
Vol.9: Byakuren

For sub-sequent volumes, My bets are on these:
Ten Desire: Toyosatomimi no Miko
Double Dealing Character: Seija

Sub-games:
Scarlet Weather Rhapsody: Tenshi
Hisoutensoku: Either Suwako or Utsuho. All original caracthers aren't humanoid
Double Spoiler: Hatate
Hopeless Masquerade: Hata No Kokoro

Another observation I made is that they use other popular characters on other albums (like I said above).

Anyway, only future will tell what they'll really do.

That Utakata song is amazing. Better than a lot of stuff on SEB 228 let me tell you.

Starting with Volume 3, the character on the front is a character featured in the game. In this case, Cirno was not heavily featured in Unidentified Fantastic Object.

My understanding re: Rute is that he's part of the A-One stable but works well with their partners/colleagues.

Introduced in the game, you mean. Marisa and Reimu were in every single game in the Windows era except Fairy Wars and Shoot The Bullet.

Cirno wasn't in UFO AT ALL. The plyable chars were Reimu, Marisa and Sanae.

Correct on all counts. Cirno wasn't featured heavily in UFO because she wasn't featured at all— it'd be impossible to feature someone heavily who's there 0 times. Me? A smartass? Naw. P:
