Hello, Eurobeat fans out there!
A small dream of mine for years is to make an own megamix with songs of my preference because like, each SEB megamix albums have got tracklist I'm not satisfied with. Some of you already made own megamixes and it catched my interest.
What do I need for making a megamix? What software? How can I learn it? Do I need paid DJ lessons or are there any tutorials on the web? Do I need musical foreknowledge?
Things I have:
- plenty of current Eurobeat discs (almost any of 188 and above, each SEB since 220) > much material in lossless quality
- one year of keyboard leassons (don't know if useful)
Hope you can help me.

Well, a good beginner program is VirtualDJ. Here's what you'll need to do:
-Rip the tracks you want to use
-Find a good BPM setting for all the tracks to be at (some tracks may need to be sped up, you never want to slow them down). Like...you might want to use tracks that sound similar in BPM (150 bpm-ish), then when you're ready to make your mix, you'll want to set the BPM of all the tracks to like 160 bpm (for example)
-Trial and Error your transitions til you get a mix that sounds right!
-Finally, record your mix!
If you want to do the 'cut and paste' Avex method...I dunno.

Hi! I don't know what kind of megamix are you thinking.
If you're thinking of the "traditional" way, Bonkers has given you a pretty accurate response.
If you're thinking of the SEB-styled megamix, I don't really know what software do DJs use. I've made myself some "cut and paste" megamixes with FL Studio. This program is actually design to produce music, but because I'm used to it I find it very simple to make this kind of megamixes. The main problem is that we'll never be able to made certain transitions because SEB DJs possess instrumental/acapellas

I use Adobe Audition 1.5. I edit the track to shorten them up, add extra beats if needed, speed them up so they are all equal BPM, soften the cutting zones, etc.
My method is very complicated. DJ Softwares might be good for more mainstream music such as house, dubstep, whatever they play these days in clubs. Eurobeat is far too complicated to beat-match to do it live - especially more recent eurobeat but older eurobeat might be more feasible. Imo.
