I've got what you need! SEB in a dance club!

How many of you have experienced SEB music at a dance club or concert? I'm wondering this as I would like to know what and how the music sounds on multiple house speaker systems.

I for one have never experienced such as thing. SEB in my car is about the most intense I've heard.

Those of you who have, please fill me in on what type of an experience it is? Do the high-note multiple synth lines drown out? Or is it every bit as clear as when you listen on headphones?

Also, what is your favorite dance club that you have ever been to, and where is it?

I think if I heard SEB in a dance club I'd faint in shock - not really the sort of thing any DJ would spin over here (especially since Eurobeat isn't very live-DJ-friendly with it's fast starts and finishes)

I've heard it in the clubs before. Quite amazing and different when you actually get it outside of the car/cd player. Quite invigorating too!

it was fun to hear it in clubs in tokyo, but the best part I would have to say was hearing oldies...I remember walking into King & Queen (tokyo maharaja) and hearing Hey Hey/Vanessa and I got so excited hehe.

Want to hear Eurobeat in disco's ey?

Last weekend there was the 'Animecon', a three-day convention. Usually there is a disco where Eurobeat is a theme. These themes usually last for about an hour. This is how the themes are usually lined up: J-pop, J-Rock, EUROBEAT, Happy Hardcore, Trance, Hardstyle Animecore (Otaku Speedvibe)

I heard Dave Rodgers (Kingdom Of Rock) and Cherry (can't remember which one, probably Yesterday) perform live but from the music you only heard the kick drum and some sharp melo lines extremely loud, aside from that I heard nothing but a big mess. No more club noise for me! I prefer the good old headphones and home speakers.

I have a friend from Spain who'd never heard eurobeat, but swore she heard Nick Mansell's Spirit of the Night in a Spanish club a few times when she heard it on my compy one day.

Back In my D.J. days. I used to play an hour of Italo beat, but slowly progressed into songs like Shock Me and Gun Fire. One of the club favorites was "Señorita"- Dr. Money. The response was divided. Some poeple liked it ,while others thought it was too slow. That is compared to High Energy of Mike Mareen and DOA, which ironically is slower than the above mentioned songs. It didn't really catch on, but I love the fact that I was the only one playing songs like "Heart & Body" and "Hold The Line"

Well, just mixing the bass up is one thing, but actively mixing at an event, you can control when you want more or less bass...

But, anyhow, to listen to this properly, I'd need the right speakers.

One of my friends had heard EMOTIONS by Stephy Martini in a gay club a couple of months ago. Apparently, everyone freaking loved the song....I think the dj added more bass to the beat to give it a more dancable tune.

You would need more bass in that song for it to be dance-club-friendly - it's quite light on percussion as EB goes

I would think a "decent" nightclub would have overall (multiband?) compression, excitation (?), bass compression (and LIMITING!)/enhancement, overall system EQ, and active crossovers, everything set up to be "bombastic." So due to compression, I expect everything should be somewhat evened out anyway.

BTW, with all the "debates" over trance here, why isn't anyone complaining about the contamination of Eurobeat with the ballad-style piano parts in these Stefy Martin/Stephy Martini tracks?

(I think it works quite well, actually.)

I have experienced it and found it quite exhilarating. For me the best dance club NYC is one which likes to experiment somewhat with the music they play, it keeps it refreshing.
