How to stay up to date

Hey guys! .

I'd like to believe that now I'm getting more and more into the genre each and every day I hear something new and with an AMAZING beat, and I just have to hear more and more of that music, I'm pretty sure this has turned into an addiction now . Anyways, I've recently ordered SEB vol 160, 161 and 162 from amazon and cdjapan (neither have arrived yet) and I just know that by the time I'm done listening to these albums there's going to be a torrent of more fresh tracks out there.

So how do you guys stay updated?, people like myself can't just throw $50 maybe $60 into SEB albums every month (that looks like how long these album take to be released). Do you guys just wait a couple months for a compilation of the last few months tracks to release and keep up to speed from that?.

Personally I get each one that comes out, some people I know just get the Best Ofs from the year since they want to hear "the best" which I disagree with since many great tracks are always left out ::cough::Snowgame Fighters & John'N'Mary Dance::cough:: but to each his own.

I only buy albums that personally suit me, as well as what I can afford. I always (no matter what genre) try to support the artists, and buy their albums. However, eurobeat's something I focus more on since it's such a small genre; I buy any album that I like.

all super eurobeat albums are easy to find online on piratebay and such sites...
but having the real thing original is always to prefer;)

Staying up to date isn't always easy for me. I buy a new SEB album probably every few months. If an album or some songs get some pretty good reviews on this forum, that usually convinces me to buy an album.

Of course, that's not always easy to do, hehe. Import fees do add up. Downloading is always an option, but I feel DIRTY doing that.

As for radio, I know it will NEVER happen (here), but I am aware there must be a few online radio stations that play Super Eurobeat music. Terrestrial radio? Forget about it. Satellite radio? (XM and Sirius), On a blue moon when Johnny Cockron rises from the dead, they might play a song on the Electronics underground channels.

Satellite radio in Japan has a Super Eurobeat radio channel (I know because I listen to it when I'm in Osaka). I can't remember the company that broadcasts it with their other lineup.

So, how to stay up to date? Read this forum everyday!

Fresh FM ( http://fresh.fm ) on sundays at 21:50 1+GMT (CMT) there are a few eurobeat songs during the 'Italo' evening. It's a dutch channel, so don't pay too much attention ot them. You can download the channel's live stream on their site: http://www.fresh.fm/nieuws.asp?id=169 Also, if you like Italo, please listen from 21:00 1+GMT (CMT) to that channel on sundays!

Well I only started buying SEBs regularly with 160 because they dropped the price, and well, now I can actually afford them. Before that I used to buy the occasional SEB here and there, but I was poorer, and I guess not as in love with Eurobeat to be honest.

So first and foremost buy if you can afford it. Then buy it if you want it. But most importantly, try and support the artists you love =)
