Review of Parapara Cool 2

Post by euro up north » 07 Mar 2006, 17:51

Okey, finally. This is what I have been waiting for.
It feels like I have waited a very long time for this album.
So, once again, i put a lot of pressure on Hi-nrg attack, the number one label in the eurobeat world.
I felt a little disapointed, that the company had choosen "the wrong" old songs. I miss Black Eva bad, but you feel glad that there is songs from the old euromachera

So - here is my review, and it has a ten-grade scale and not only 9 and 10, like too many reviews in this and other forums.

1-2 A really ugly song. A song that i never would listen to again
3-4 Under avarage, a boring song, that has nothing.
5-6 Avarage song, that i could listen to, if i am doing things, but if i found the remotcontrol i would change.
7-8 Above avarage. A nice song, that could listen to in certain periods and choose for partys.
9-10 Songs that never dies. Songs that you will remember and could count in sleep.

1. Michelle Rose - Run to me

This song remindes me of another track, but i can´t just find out which one. But the speed and happiness almost bring the feeling Euromach did.
This is Hi-nrg Attack, very close to thier top potential. A perfect beginning, of the album. Michelle Rose always deliver. Very close to an eight.

Grade: 7+/10

2. Rick Castle - All of you, all of me

Few of the maleside attracts me with their music. Rick Castle is one of the exceptions. His voice is great, and hit a 10-grade song on Euromach.
But the last songs on late SEB hasn´t delivered at all.
This song is the "slow" experiment of Hi-nrg attack, and you have to be honest, this is not what you want, when you get Parapara Cool.
It is the modern Castle sound, and no edge. We try to forget this song fast, and accept the fact, that this must have been something to deliver 12 instead of 11 songs for this album. Very close to hit an underaverage-grade

Grade 5-/10

3. Claudia Vip - Close your eyes

Claudia Vip is a tengrade potential singer. I just love here songs, and she has two 10 grader and one 9 grader earlier. This is a happy song, with strong Euromach/Aerobeat feelings. Once again you feel the power of Hi-nrg attack. It is definetly a song above average, but i miss the final touch in the refrain.

Grade 7/10

4. Mote Mote - Wow Tokyo

Korea Japan was a major male song. A topsong. Wow Tokyo is from the Euromach era, vol 5. This is a little more avarage song, than Korea Japan. Great to relive the song from euromach-era. Only that in extended version is a bonusgrade.

Grade 7/10

5. Rick Castle - Happy generation

Slow Rick, is no Rick. But this time, it is speed, the natural happiness, and a wonderful verse, where you recognize Ricks great male and tough voice. This is the best song of Castle since Euromach, and this sounds euromach, but the refrain, is not as sharp. But this is what we want from Rick. His sound is great.

Grade 7/10

6. Nikita Jr. - Lost in Tokio

Nikitas Saturday Night is one of the most wanted euromach extended projects. In waiting for that song, we can listen to this. Nikita has been released a lot of songs, but the hits has been few. This song is song in the right direction. A great speedy song, but to ordinar and simple.

Grade 6+/10

7. Ted Candela - Victom of Love

Ted has only one song from before. A late Euromachsong, and Ted has kept the euromach-sound. But he is not one of my favorites, with his cigar (sound like he smoked before he sang this song) voice.
But the melody is great. It is also the great feeling of the old "Hi-nrg Attack" with the strong melodies and sound. A good refrain and nice verse.

Grade 7+/10

8. Rick Castle - Pamela

Rick is back. The second song on this album, where Rick delivers. And this time he almost hits the spot. A great song, a the great "Hi-nrg attack" vs Rick Castle feeling.
This is best so far, especially the verse.

Grade 8/10

9. Leslie Hammond - Only you can light my fire

I have missed Leslie a lot. She also had a 10-grade song in the past euromach-era.
This is close-to euromach-era song, but it doesn´t reach the peak level, but close enough. A fast happy song, with a robust refrain.

Grade 8-/10

10. Francis Cooper - Night fly guy

The eurobeat-flash super song. This is from vol 21. This is definatly a male top song. This is close to the absolut peak.

Grade 9-/10

11. Ted Candela - Ready to love

From euromach 15. And the only Ted Candela song until now. This song is better than his eariler song on this album. This song is quite great actually, and I like it almost better here, than euromach.
An over-avarag-song.

Grade 8-/10

12. Cat Woman - Get fun

A new aquintence. This song is about, what euromach was all about. And this song is - to my happines - very euromach. Very nice verse, and a Hi-nrg attack soft refrain. This is one of the topsongs of the album.

Grade 8/10

Total: 8-/10

Commantary: This is the best album since parapara Cool 1. And the cool-sound and mix between new and old songs is wonderful. This compilation (I know, it is just two albums, but i hope there will be more) is a winner. A total winner. I would buy this any day berfore any SEB.
Here HI-nrg Attack shows thier hitmaking talent.
The only, and very personal question i have: How darn long do I have to wait for the euromach songs of Black Eva.......I want them now...
But I lift my hat for HI-nrg attack. This record reminds why I love Hi-nrg attack and eurobeat.

tx

I don´t really know what it is, I just don´t like all of you...with Rick Castle. It has nothing to do with fact, that the song i slow. I just don´t feel the song coming.

And you always feel a heartbeat, when a euromach-extended song apperas......But Wow Tokyo isn´t the very best song, but good enough. Korea Japan was a major hit.
