As I told you in a previous thread a while ago, those tracks aren't necessarily "new" or foreign to us considering there was an entire thread devoted to these unreleased tracks about six months ago. The SCP list is probably fresh to some, but I knew about it months ago as well from some blog. Anyway, the thread is being derailed enough.
And to that zuop person or some moderator: do you mind shortening the link in that post that's stretching the page?
We all have been discussing songs unreleased for a while now. But I'm sure many people haven't seen some of these songs in previous postings. A great deal of us knew about the SCP through a certain blog but some of the A-Beat C no. Whether or not the original intention of the posting is about something else, if it brings up other material so be it. This is a forum, things are going to be discussed and things shouldn't be held to one topic only.
As for the link in the post I'll work on it.
You can hate me but you know you have quality issues =p

"LOLITA MORENA / DJ ZORRO"
Did I
not predict a song like this?! (Dan, Phil - did I not?!) haha! I wanna hear it~ :3
The catalogues depress me, ever so much...
I'd say if you tried a performance, without Avex's o.k., nothing good could come of it.

Heh. Well, derail or no, it's nice to see that this thread has generated such an outcome.
From what I've heard, actually, the venue has its ways of making sure that cover songs and whatnot are covered and the artists paid for... or not. In which case, it's the VENUE I'd need to check with first.
Then, for the performance rights, the SONGWRITERS have the permissions that random white kid from California needs to perform the song. As for Mechanical rights (owning/playing the actual file live, without deleting parts or whatnot), with some exceptions going to the songwriters/artists, are where AVEX comes in.
Then again I could be wrong. We'll just have to wait and see.

I have a question of a different nature.
Why an anime convention? What does what you're doing have anything to do with the subject?

OT again,
but Interestingly Bailan Muy Bien, Bravo and Viernes is listed as DJ Tarro
link
Notice a pattern with those three songs
Seeing the G. Pasquini song list... you realise... avex hasn't even gone passed the surface of the DJ Zorro catalogue
I don't think we'll ever hear SLAP and The Wanna Be from the Fausto Guio list

Well, lightsol may be a good person to speak with about licencing songs, as his band NRElement covered ABeatC's Olele Olala and went through all the hoops to make it legal for them to do so. I'd imagine simply preforming the songs would be easier to get the "OKAY" for in comparison to covering a song and putting it on a CD to sell.

Well, not only for the sake of Initial D, but for the philosophy behind Fanime: It's not necessarily JUST an anime convention; it celebrates other facets of Asian culture (read: Japanese, Korean, a little Chinese, even a dash of Phillipino (sp?)) as well. As such, with the importance and effect Eurobeat has held in Japanese culture (even if said effect is beginning to fade), it deserves some attention in anime conventions. Even without the Asian culture ideal, a lot of Para Para groups have performed routines for anime conventions, simply to demonstrate the Eurobeat sound to such an audience.
Or, in my particular case, it's the only place that'll allow me to be geeky like that. :3

Having an affinity for a genre of music doesn't make you geeky, only when you refuse to separate it from otaku culture.
Anyhow, as an issue of japanese culture, I'm not sure an entire genre of music imported from and produced by another country entirely is a good place to start... if that's what you're truly after.
I just think you should try to set your sights a big higher go for a club event or some sort of venue that really favors dance music.
Oh, also, which para para groups?
