Memories of Eurobeat

Anyone also have some unique memories of eurobeat songs?

Or situations where you always listen to some certain song?

I have a few to share:

Fantasy (Virginelle) is my very song of summer 2007; i remember
when i heared it much when going to my favourite swimming bath,
bevore they sadly closed it & then blew it up at the end of the year.

I'll Be Live (Baby Gold) is the song i listened the most to the time
i found out that my friend betrayed me. I think it's a song both
sad & powerful to cope with deeper emotions.

Before Tommorow Comes Again (Louise) i listen very often while
styling bevore going out; it's so easy to relax while listening,
i just love this song!

There Must Be An Angel (Leslie Parrish) was on my mp3-player
on some winter walk years ago at the very moment i felt so cold
because i was way to underdressed, so the song kind of
warmed me up & reminded me that it's not a long way home.

I'll write more as i collect them; looking forward to your memories! <3

A couple notable tracks that come into my mind...

Once Upon A Time / Pamsy: This was the very first song I ever heard when I was introduced to Super Eurobeat. I had been interested in other dance genres at the time, but the moment I heard this track (along with the rest of SEB 172), I was completely blown away by how high the production values, excitement levels, and melodic delivery were in contrast to anything else I'd ever heard. I had heard eurobeat songs before, but it was this first experience hearing Super Eurobeat that I became completely enamored by the genre and have not lost a single drop of interest ever since.

Futureland / Ace: A eurobeat song that even my mom really loved once she heard it. Though she isn't particularly comfortable with the progressive downbeat found in a typical eurobeat song, the mesmerizingly beautiful presentation of this track was enough to make it stand out notably compared to other eurobeat songs she's heard before. It's also grown a lot on me since I first heard it.

First eurobeat song for me was
King Kong & D.Jungle Girls - Boom Boom Dollar (Red Monster Mix) from DDR.
D.Essex - Boom Boom Fire from ParaPara Paradise... spent so much of the summer of 2001 learning parapara routines for that game because of this song

Niko - Night Of Fire from Dance Dance Revolution Disney's Rave. It had this familiar quality to it that was also infectious

Ace - Take My Breath Away That song was my jam for the winter of 2001. Loved it then and loved it now. I used to love driving after school to this song.

High Level - Take My Time Best Time Track EVER! Summer 2001 for me was all about this track. It's was also my shower karaoke track haha. So many great and fun memories with this track.

Flashman - Flash In The Night When I first heard it I was obsessed. I spent years searching for the extended mix and was sooo happy when I found it. It was definitely is the great hayday of Dancemania... Also reminds me of high school. Well... the good times anyways.

King Kong & D. Jungle Girls—Boom Boom Dollar (First DDR song I ever played and passed. I originally thought the singers were Japanese... then again, the arcade didn't take good care of the rig either. That was one ghetto machine... >< )
Coo Coo—Upside Down(Another DDR classic in terms of my past, one of my first "staple" songs.)
Flashman—Flash In The Night (Okay, I used to laugh at this one a lot, because I thought our buddy Jimmy was legitimately pouring his heart out. Don't worry, I have a lot of respect for the guy. Just... this track wasn't the one that did it for me.)
Mad Cow & The Orchestra of Bazookistan—Dis Cow Mos Cow My first non J-Euro iTunes purchase, and my first true venture into non-Dancemania Eurobeat.
Franz Tornado—Bazooka Pistolero (The first song I ever tried to learn the Parapara routine for. That's right, NoF didn't take my ParaVirginity! :P)
A lot's changed in the decade and a half I've been here.

"YEAH" / HINOI team - I think it was the first eurobeat song I heard (I might have heard "NIGHT OF FIRE"/Niko earlier, but I'm not 100% sure). Mainly listened to it because it was related to Pokémon. Didn't like the song too much, but I ended up listening to other songs on the single (which was for "NIGHT OF FIRE") and enjoyed it. I also remember performing a modified version of the parapara routine at ConnectiCon 2007 with my friends, while dressed as Pokémon characters~ And how two of the members had to learn it in a day and someone failed to learn it. DX *grumbles remembering everything that happened related to the skit* ...moving on...

"PLAY WITH THE NUMBERS" / HINOI team - First parapara routine I learned all the way through - incorrectly (basically, I copied what I saw on screen and didn't "mirror" it in anyway). >_> Didn't notice that until a few weeks before performing it in the talent show (I also remembered I wanted to perform "SING NA NA NA" instead, but that never happened...>_> *couldn't learn it in time*).

"SUPER RIDER" / Mark Astley - After I learned the parapara routine, I showed it to my mom, who REALLY liked the song. I remember her telling me to "send it over" so she could put it onto her MP3. I also remember being in the car with her, at the intersection on the Berlin Turnpike, at the stop light, and her cranking up the song and us pretty much dancing in our seats to it. XD I also remember performing "SUPER RIDER" for my Language Arts class last year. >_> They were shocked that I was "dancing just like the video" that I was playing, thus proving to them I do not make up these dances. 8D

"RAINBOW" / Danny Rock - I was nervous that my (now ex-)girlfriend was gonna break up with me, but then we talked it out...yet I was still nervous. And I had just bought this song. I was really shocked at the lyrics and how they related to me at that moment and it cheered me up~ x3

...I think that's it right now. Or at least, all I can actually remember.

Judy Crystal - Nori Nori Nori(one of the first Eurobeat songs I heard, in DDR)
John Desire - Hot Limit(first parapara routine attempted)
Franz Tornado & The Yamanba Gals - Ganguro(first non-DDR Eurobeat song and first parapara video watched)
Leslie Parrish - Remember Me(first Delta song heard)
Niko - Night Of Fire(heard the name before I even knew of Eurobeat's existence)
Lolita - Heart Attack (the version I first heard was sped up, so it didn't sound like her at first)
Lou Lou Marina - Super Man (first track on my first iTunes Eurobeat purchase)
Big Brother - Wild Reputation(first "old" Eurobeat song heard, didn't know this was Dave Rodgers at first)
Irene - Love Is The Name Of Love(first song I heard from this artist)
Pamsy - Babyface (first "trancy Pamsy" type song heard)

Oh my god I have so many memories to so many songs... hah - here's a few main ones:

I have a whole shit load of songs that remind me of my trip to Italy in '06:

Cherry / Stop Teasing My Heart
Ace / Drivin' Crazy
Ace / Moonchild
Christine / Rain
Christine / Crazy Generation
Dave Rodgers / Space Boy

(All the above were performed at the party, so whenever I hear those songs I get crazy flashbacks haha)

Karen / Nothing's Gonna Take My Love From You - When we were out to dinner, Domino randomly broke out into song and sang the chorus. Well, it was randomly to us... I think someone asked her to do it when they were talking in Italian.)

Karen / Hurricane and Domino / Give Me Five - These songs are from Vicky and I's main inside jokes from that time. "It's like a hurricane" then we laugh. "Give me five, give me five, give me YOUR five." then we laugh. I remember us standing outside of the club before the party and she saw the sign for the club... She said "Look, it's bambu" and I replied "yeah, it's like..." then she said "it's like a hurricane" HAHA

Domino / Cooking Boy (Japanese Ver.) This song reminds me of the night we all went out for dinner, my last day in Italy... Domino played it for us at the table and all I can remember is that I was so happy because it was during tohe time when she didn't have much new material.

~~~
The first Eurobeat memory I have is Domino / Tora Tora Tora - I *think* it was the first Eurobeat song I heard, excluding DDR crap but I never really paid any attention to what genre it was. I asked my otaku friend who it was by, and she said MAX. Domino's version was playing so I wasn't convinced the singer was Japanese - so I looked Domino up and found one of her Japanese songs which got me really confused. Then, I found her Tora Tora Tora album on eBay, decided to buy it, received it a few weeks later then things kind of escalated. XD
Lolita - Romeo and Juliet brings back flashbacks of me having conference calls with my friends in high school - I played it over the phone and everyone told me to shut it off. hah
One song that brings back bad memories is Ace feat. La Gatta - One Touch. That's because my EX use to love this song (but was never into Eurobeat) - so I kind of associated this song as "our Eurobeat song" I need to learn not to associate stuff like that to Eurobeat!! I can't listen to the song anymore without remembering his stupid fat ugly face. LOL
Okay, this one is bad, but Oda - Speed Demon (King Of Kings) reminds me of this guy I use to know of in college. He was mentally disabled... He would always get around in a motorized wheel chair. One time between classes I was outside for a smoke and some teacher saw him zoom by and called him a Speed Demon.... so whenever this song plays I imagine that guy from college.
More recently... whenever I heard Leo River - Runaway I see an asian guy running, because once while waiting for the bus the song was playing in my ear, and right when "RUUNNAAWAAAAAYYY" was sung this really crazy looking asian guy ran right past me. *shrugs* haha
There's SO MANY MORE but I've already wrote too much. XD I'll post more later.
Hrmm...interesting thread.
I Wanna Be Fat/ Go Go Girls: I used to be part of a parapara team. Ok, so all of us are slightly fluffy, chunky, etc. Me and my friends just thought the song was amazing.
Upside Down/ Coo Coo: the first DDR song I remember listening to. I didn't even know what Eurobeat was back in 2000. In the end, it was the song that started off my trip to Eurobeat.
Runaway/ Donna: while no particular real life memories of this song, it always makes my mind fly off in marvelous imagery. Virgin Marys, laser beams, and runaways (of course). Great song, misunderstood lyrics. Go Delta
and last but not least:
Imagine/ Jay Lehr: in the same vain of Runaway and Jay's other song, Wildlife. SCP has the nack for giving Jay's songs great imagery in my head. The intro totally blows me away and the lyrics imprint some crazy images.
1. King Kong & D. Jungle Girls- Boom Boom Dollars. First Italo/Eurobeat style record I ever purchased. I have no idea what that DDR is , but I have the original and Boom Boom Beats cover of years later.That infectious hook was like the cure I was waiting for after my beloved Hair Metal days were over. The whole guy in Gorilla outfit just added to the whackyness.
Gino Caria- Hold The Line. Found on a 50 cent barell along with other Italo and disco classics. The reason this one is so important was because I finally knew what my favourite Eurobeat vocalist was and what he looked like.
Franz Tornado- Mad Cow. I used to write to Federrico and he would send me vinyls. On this oparticular incedent he sent me a pic of himself posing with his Red Ferrari.
Dave Hammond- Loverboy. Played the instrumental version and inserted my own vocals along with a bunch of other TIME songs and sent it as a sort of serenading mix tape to my than girlfriend.
Super Eurobeat 077- Not for the sticky reason, but rather I f I remeber correctly that was the first volume when I found songs that were not being pressed onto vinyl. This starting the SEB addiction. In fact it was that one 74 and 81. They were already at nighnty-something so I had a lot of catching upp to do.
Touch Me- Jay Gunner & Lucky The Nice- Take Me Away. Eddy Parregio and Danny Roosen(NRG Boys) first played this new songs from a new Hi NRG label from Claudo Accantino. I was immediately hooked to Roby's agrresive vocals.
Mako- Kiss To Kiss- I finally reralized where my beloved Mike Hammer had jumped to.
Mike Hammer- Heartbreaker. 6 a.m. in the morning I was ording vinyls from oversees and this one was playing through my phone speaker. I liked it so much I told the guy to play the whole thing. You know oversees phonecalls can be expensive.
Dr. Money- Let it Go. First TIME I attempet to play Eurobeat /Italo at the club where I was Dee Jaying. It got a positive responce. I ended up mixing an hour long set of TIME-FLEA-HI Energy-ASIA-ABEATC records. That led to me making aerobix mix tapes at the gym I was working at at the TIME.
Be My Lover- Maria Valentino. I was playing this song in the car with a a now exgirlfriend. Somehow when the chorus came on she knew exactly what melody it was and sang along.
Wow so many great mnemories 8)
Derrick Simons/Hey People
This song I "discovered" after tagging some Eurobeat albums and I had it on high rotation in my iPod during March of last year. It kept me company throughout my spring break trip to Japan. :)
Paul Murray/Commedia - See above
Ika/Go Godzilla Go - I was into the Parapara paradise game back in early 2006 and this song was also in heavy rotation in my ipod when I traveled to Tokyo for the first time in my life. Needless to say, big memories!
