Super Eurobeat 139
1.Nuage - It's Holiday (A-Beat C)
Well, I really wouldn't have believed this before but
Nuage is
steadily building an even firmer ground for herself. At first I didn't
really like her at all but she's growing on me day by day even more, and
at this point I can already say that she's stolen my soul with her awesome
vocals and of course the marvellous songs have had a thing or two do with
it. Another awesome song that starts this album really magnificently.
Rating : 9½
2.Digital Planet - West End Guy (A-Beat C)
The strong athmosphere continues as another hit is displayed, though this
one was a bit of a surprise to me. The new titles are always a bit of an
enigma as most of the times they don't offer a lot, but then jewels like
this pop up and manage to brighten up the scenery. A great energetic dance
song, very catchy.

3.Pizza Girl - Bang (Delta)
And oh wow, I had a bit of a hunch that the Nuage song wouldn't be topped,
but I was wrong yet again.
Pizza Girl is one wonderful artist that
manages to impress me time after time, she never seems to stick to a
certain pattern in her songs and that's what makes her wonderful. The
songs have a lot of variety and also are way above the typical eurobeat
level, excellent melody, vocals, plain perfect.
Rating : 10
4.Robert Patton - Top Of The Pop (Time)
A killer trio in the beginning had my hopes really high for the album, and
even if the level of the album decreases just slighty with this song it
doesn't go terribly wrong fortunately. Robert Patton is a bit monotonic as
a vocalist and he doesn't have a lot of energy in his voice that I really
value in eurobeat, but this song is still good, not a classic but a nice
upbeat song.
Rating : 8+
5.Lolita - Don't You Want My Heart (A-Beat C)
And yet again I was amazed about the direction the album took. I am a huge
fan of Lolita's (well anybody who has read my earlier reviews probably has
noticed it), and from all of her songs this is definitely one of the very
best. Only topped by the magnificent Think Of You. This track has an
irresistible chorus and the song has just everything you can want from a
great eurobeat song. Very memorable and I'd say that Eurobeat doesn't get
a lot better than this.
Rating : 10+++
6.Pretty Woman & Melody - Alibi (Delta)
A calm intro with nice vocals by this duo, and I was rather surprising how
good the song actually turned out to be. The backgrounds have a really
cool synth loop playing, which is the main hook in this song. The vocals
build a lot of edge and the song sounds really pleasant.
Rating : 8½
7.Dave Rodgers - Shake (A-Beat C)
A very unlike
Rodgers intro, where are the guitars? A fraud! Well
perhaps he can do a change in his productions every once in a while? Well
this track is pretty common in some ways, but it also offers some nice
hooks with the simple but effective backgrounds, and I am apparently
really starting to build a soft spot for
Dave in my heart after all,
or then he just keeps on getting better.
Rating : 8
8.Marko Polo - Stop Your Self Control (Delta)
This album takes yet another high uphill as another killer song is
presented.
Marko Polo is one heck of a vocalist and this track
shows perfectly his capabilities as an eurobeat artist. The track has
awesome backgrounds and really cool robotic voices backing up the main
vocals. Another highlight in the same SEB, this is just dandy.
Rating : 10-
9.Alexis - Wait For Me (Time)
The album takes its first dive deeper underground. This track is your
typical
Alexis production and like her most songs it either doesn't
manage to offer a whole lot. The song is pretty upbeat and has nice songs
here and there but it just isn't catchy or fun to listen to, and that's
what makes eurobeat eurobeat, a boring song, specially after so many
killer songs.
Rating : 6
10.7th Heaven - It's My Life (Delta)
The intro kicks the song into action with energy, but then it turns out to
be rather common, though it's a lot better than the previous song. This
song has pretty transparent backgrounds and the vocals are given a lot of
room and if the vocals didn't work there wouldn't be much in this track at
all, but fortunately the vocals work well. A good chorus due to the lyrics
and a decent song.
Rating : 7
11.Norma Sheffield - For A Crazy Love (A-Beat C)
A-Beat C presented us with a few killer songs earlier on so I guess it's
justified that songs like this follow up later on. The song is again a
very typical Norma Sheffield production that has some nice loops in the
piano-based backgrounds and the chorus works nicely, but the song would've
needed a bit more of a boost to make it more enjoyable.
Rating : 7½
12.Mr. M - Pretender (Time)
An interesting intro with some rather disctinctive sounds along, the song
uses pretty nice sounds here and there which gives it a nice touch, but
always good production isn't enough. When the song itself is pretty
mediocore even the best production can't save it, this time the song
really is pretty normal and only has a good chorus, not bad, nor very good.
Rating : 7
13.Dynamika - Passion (A-Beat C)
This track at first sounded quite lame but after a while it really grew on
me, it has a serious
Dave & Domino sound to it (who are the
vocalists behind this song by the way?). A good c-melody and the vocals
really are the strongest part of the song, it leaves a nice impression and
makes you wanna replay it, so that's a very good sign.
Rating : 8½
14.Matt Land - Here I Am (A-Beat
C)
Nuage and
Matt Land are like the newer generation of
Domino and
Dave Rodgers, I've come to that conclusion as these
2 new artists seem to release only really effective materials and the
tracks have excellent hooks in them, this track is yet another awesome
song by Matt, and again I have to praise his excellent vocals, magnificent!
Rating : 9+
15.Dr. Love - Power Of Desperation (Delta)
And we're already at the end of the album, this album really has been
an excellent package and it goes by really quickly. This track finishes
the album off with excellent style. The track has really unique sounds in
the backgrounds and the vocals work really well. Energetic and fun to
dance to, Yay!

9-
Final Words :
Well again at this point, the album goes by quickly when the level is this
high, there were some truly memorable masterpieces in the mix and the
album is definitely one of the strongest compilations in a while. The few
rather mediocore songs in the mix don't spoil the big picture that badly
and the album leaves you feeling really good, so nothing but Yeah, Whoa!
Final Score : 8½
